This notice explains how Esky Repair Ltd uses personal information when people contact our Facebook Messenger assistant.
Who we are
Esky Repair Ltd
12 Esky Road

Email: eskyrepair@gmail.com
Telephone: +44 7933 553383Information we use
We may receive your Messenger account identifier, the messages and attachments you send, contact details you choose to provide, device make and model, fault details, repair or stock enquiries, and message dates and times.
Why we use it
We use this information to answer enquiries, prepare repair quotations, arrange drop-off, postage and collection, provide repair updates, hand conversations to a person when needed, and protect the service from misuse.
Our lawful basis
We use information where it is necessary to take steps at your request before providing a repair or sale, to perform our agreement with you, and for our legitimate interests in operating customer support and keeping accurate service records. We do not use chatbot conversations for unsolicited marketing.
Automated assistance
The assistant uses automated processing to understand the subject of a message and prepare a suitable response or handover. It does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Repair prices, completion times, complaints and repair-status decisions are handled personally.
Who processes information
Information may be processed for us by Meta, which operates Facebook Messenger; OpenAI, which helps classify enquiry text; and Mythic Beasts, which hosts the chatbot. We do not sell personal information. These providers may process information outside the UK using the safeguards described in their own privacy and data-transfer terms.
How long we keep it
Chatbot conversation records are normally removed 12 months after the last customer message. We may retain information for longer where it is needed for a repair, warranty, dispute, accounting requirement or legal obligation.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or an objection to our use of your personal information. Contact us using the details above. You can also read our data-deletion instructions.
If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
